Google SERP jump up and down up and down…

And the wheel keeps turning around and around, around and around, around and around. In the last week we have seen some major shifts in Google SERP. Keywords vanishing from the frist page of results sending traffic to one fifth of what it was before and then jumping back up and even higher. This Google breakdance happened twice already.

So we put to use our searching skills and came up with this site - Rankpulse. Site tracks the Google search-rankings of 1,000 keywords and shows a nice graph of the general volatility of the SERP:

We can see a big spike in the end of May beginning of June, but it is not nearly as wide as the spike at the end of the graph.  So whats up or down with your SERPs :)?

Yeah - I’ve noticed huge spikes in the serps. Jumping from like page 1 to page 40 one day, then back to page 1 the next. Happened across a few sites I run.

Thats amazing, i would never have guessed it would be so volatile. Were these long or short tail keywords?

  3. Buzz Says:

I think the keywords analysed are high volume search keywords.
